Retreat/Events Topics

Below is a list of the individual topics (1 session each) as well as retreat themes (3-4 sessions each) that Jill has developed over the past several years, along with a short description of each. She is always writing more and is very open to new ideas or suggestions, especially if your event has a specific theme.

Individual Topics (1 Session each):

  1. "My Father's Eyes" - In a tender and heartfelt way, Jill openly speaks of her experience of being born with birth defects and the pain of rejection and fear that ruled her life until Jesus stepped in and rescued her.
  2. "Being versus Doing" - This is Jill's journey from performing for God to falling in love with God and then living out of that place.
  3. "Storms of Life" - This talk deals in lessons on embracing the pain of struggles and hardships and allowing them to be a catalyst for growth.
  4. "The Shepherd and His Sheep" - Included in this session are practical thoughts on learning to hear God's Voice and then following it.
  5. "A Makeover for the Soul" - This teaching suggests practical ways for blessing our husbands from full hearts rather than the dregs.
  6. "Forgiven? Forgive!" - Letting go of unforgiveness enables us to be truly free!!
  7. "Nothing Between Us" - If we want freedom in our lives, then each time our will comes up against His will, ours has to die.
  8. "Bearing Fruit" - Preparing and then tending the soil of our hearts to receive the Word and allow it to bear fruit in our lives.

Retreat Themes (3-4 Sessions each):

  1. "Living Hope" - An in-depth study on the book of I Peter, including A Reason for Hope, Hope for Living a Godly Life, Hope for Relationships, and Hope in the Midst of Suffering.
  2. "Come Thirsty" - These 4 sessions, including a look at the woman at the well and the woman who broke the alabaster jar of perfume over Jesus' feet, are based on Isaiah 55: 1-2. The theme includes a look at uncovering and then bringing the hungry places of the heart to God, allowing Him to fill them with Living Water.
  3. "Out of the Storm" - A look at the story of Jesus walking on the water during the storm, including a session on Jill's testimony, her story of freedom from the bondage of performance, a message on walking through the storms of life, and a teaching on hearing the voice of God through the storm.
  4. "From Slave to Servant" - Using the backdrop of the Israelites journey from Egypt through the desert and on to the Promised Land, Jill talks about the vast difference between the slavery to "doing" and the freedom of "being".
Because of the nature of these topics and the atmosphere of vulnerability, a time of prayer following the sessions is extremely beneficial. Jill loves to spend as much time as is necessary with each lady requesting prayer and is open to being available for prayer throughout the event or weekend.
